“Art must take to the road and risk all for the glory of adventure.”– Lawren Harris
Partial is an art marketplace and platform for artists and art-seekers to connect and engage in real and accessible transactions. Thanks to our smart try-before-you-buy options, original work by local artists are just around the corner – and now within reach.
Our small team began Partial in 2016 in Toronto with the simple goal of bringing more art out of artists’ studios and onto the walls of homes and businesses in their city.
Whether you are a seasoned art collector or a curious art lover, Partial is here to make it simpler to bring true, original artwork onto your walls. You can experiment and explore artwork that speaks to you. Artwork is an investment – so, our rental model allows you to try out a piece for a few months, or express all sides of yourself with rotating artwork.

Partial is established on the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Métis, and the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. We acknowledge them and any other Nations who care for the land (acknowledged and unacknowledged, recorded and unrecorded) as the past, present and future caretakers of this land named Tkaronto, “Where The Trees Meet The Water”; “The Gathering Place”.
Indigenous peoples have stewarded this land for 15,000 years and continue to do so today. We recognize that this gathering place is the subject of the One Dish, One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant – an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and Confederacy of the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.
