WHAT LIES IN THE SHADOWS, a curated collection

Guest curators share the art that influences their creative lives. In our Guest Curator series, we feature a local tastemaker in Canada and share their favourite works of art on Partial.

"I have always been drawn to art that evokes an uneasy suspenseful emotion. One that strikes a nervous cord between the unknown, uncertainty and even fear. In my own art I like to explore this world and expose its mysterious riches. When you peek behind the forbidden curtain, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you may find."

– Steven Sabados

After completing his education in Fine Art, Steven moved to Toronto to explore numerous creative avenues. In 1995, he co-founded the design firm "The Sabados Group Inc" with partner Chris Hyndman. He also starred in several television shows, including the international hit "Designer Guys," and hosted the national daytime talk shows "Steven and Chris" and "The Goods" for CBC. Currently, Steven's successful home decor & furniture line, STEVEN SABADOS STUDIO, is sold across North America. Additionally, he produces artwork for major retailers such as CB2 and Macy's NYC.
